Mission and Operational Statements

The C-1 World Dialogue is a high-level International Body for the advance of peaceful and harmonious West-Islamic Relations. It aims to be the foremost global platform promoting understanding and improved relations between the Western and Islamic Worlds.

The Mission and Vision of the C-1 World Dialogue is to support and promote, propagate and preserve, peace, harmony and friendship between the Western and Islamic Worlds and between Christians and Muslims in particular, on the widest possible scale. It seeks to do this in accord with the two greatest Commandments given us, namely to love God and our neighbour–as called for by the historic A Common Word Open Letter of October 13th 2007. C-1 World Dialogue will promote the core common moral values of respect for human life, dignity and mind; basic human rights; commitment to peace; protection of community and family; social justice and truth; brotherhood and practical compassion for the poor and those in need.

Operational Objectives The C-1 is designed to fill the critical gap in knowledge generation and do so in a comprehensive way across critical issues of Religion and Faith, Governance and Politics, Commerce and Business, Mass Media, Academia and Science, and last but not least Civil Society. Such focused effort will provide the C1 with the ability to highlight with authority the most pressing issues in the West-Muslim relations and enable the interested actors to improve upon their capacity to act in pursuit of a more harmonious coexistence and productive cooperation.
